Key fashion trends to follow this autumn

As the last days of summer fade away, it’s time to pack away the gladiator sandals and the maxi dresses and look forward to a whole new season of fashion! And we’ve done all the hard work for you, by tracking down the latest looks to take you through autumn into winter in style. Here’s a sneak preview of what’s sure to be hot this autumn:

Tweed and checks
Nothing typifies country living more than tweed and strong, bold checks, but prepare to see these invading the High Street over the coming months.  Team a check shirt with ripped jeans for a cool and relaxed weekend look. Or, for tweeds and checks to see you through to the night, just add a pair of killer heels. This tailored checked jacket from H&M with a high-fashion belt detail will keep you looking glam and feeling cosy this autumn.

Eighties
Forget Kate Moss and Sienna Miller, think Madonna and Cyndi Lauper as your style icons this season. The Eighties are being resurrected to take us into a new decade with plenty of shoulder pads and Lycra. Team off-the-shoulder tops and tunics with leggings for an easy-to-wear Lycra look. Next have this fabulous graffiti and punk style T-Shirt - the perfect partner to black ankle zip leggings and ideal for dining out with the girls.

Leather
It’s not only about biker boots and jeans, leather becomes more grown-up and ladylike this autumn. Pair a leather jacket or some studded ankle boots with elegant skirts and floaty dresses to give femininity a rock chic edge.
