Does your team deserve a sporting chance?

Greenwich Shopping Park situated off Bugsby’s Way in Charlton is giving one local sports youth team the chance to kick start the new season in style, by giving away a brand new worth up to £300. Home to retailers SportsDirect.com and JD Sports, the shopping park is launching a search to find the most deserving sports youth team to be awarded with a new sponsored playing strip.

 Greenwich Shopping Park will offer one sports youth team the opportunity to claim a fully branded kit, donated on behalf of the Park and its eleven high-street stores. The Park will become the team’s official kit sponsor for the 2009/10 Season.

Whether the team’s sport is football, netball, rugby or hockey, the kit will include branded t-shirts, shorts or skirts for up to a maximum of 16 players. SportsDirect.com will also donate some sports equipment to the winning team. The competition is open to any sports team with players aged under the age of 18. The team can be run by a school, youth club or community organisation.

Greenwich Shopping Park spokesperson, Sian Nicholls, said: “Keeping fit and taking part in team activities is important for the development of children and young people. We’re delighted to be launching this competition and supporting our community sports teams. We hope starting the new season in sporting style will give any team a good sporting chance to take top spot in the league next year.”

To enter the competition, Greenwich Shopping Park is calling on sports teams to explain in no more than 100 words, why the team should win. The team should also send in a picture of the squad if available. A team coach, teacher, guardian or representative aged over 18 must nominate the team.
