The Boots store at Greenwich Shopping Park off Bugsby’s Way, Charlton, has teamed up with Charlton Athletic Community Trust and NHS Greenwich to give shoppers free, professional quit smoking tips and advice to help smokers kick the habit for good in 2010.

 

The six-week quit smoking Kick the Habit programme will be launched at the Boots store in the Shopping Park on Friday, 29 January at 3.00pm.

 

Part of a wider initiative set up by Charlton Athletic FC’s Community Outreach department in 2006 in partnership with NHS Greenwich and Greenwich Council, a team of five quit smoking professionals will visit the Shopping Park every Friday and Saturday, from 10.00am to 4.00pm. The first full day of sign up sessions will start on Saturday, 30 January at 10.00am.

 

Shoppers will be encouraged to sign up to and follow a six-week, quit smoking programme, returning to the Shopping Park every week to get tips, help and advice on staying on track towards kicking the habit.

 

This will be the first time the Football Club has hosted the quit smoking programme at a retail park in the Greenwich Borough.

 

The six week programme will start officially on Friday, 29 January and will end on Saturday, 13 March.
